At the Northside Outreach Center (NOC), we are compelled by the love of God and the compassion of Christ to make an eternal impact in the lives of our neighbors. These are the goals we seek to meet in pursuit of our mission.

Restoring Our
Streets to Dwell in

The per capita income in Highland Park is $30,077. 10.1% of adults older than 25 do not have a high school diploma, and 70.2% have only a high school diploma. [1]

The Northside Outreach Center has been working since 2004 to revitalize the Highland Park community. We desire to bring positive transformation by spiritually, relationally, and economically connecting people to needed resources, mentoring, discipleship, and community outreach.

Reclaiming This Generation

Four out of the five schools that serve the children and youth of Highland Park are “Accredited with Conditions” meaning that one or more school quality indicators are performing under the state standards. The graduation rates for the two high schools in the area, John Marshall and Armstrong, are 90% and 75%, respectively. [2]

Approximately 30% of children living in Highland Park are living in poverty. [3]

Knowing that the current generation of children and youth is our future, the NOC places a great emphasis on reaching the young. Through our ministries and partnerships with Youth Life Foundation, we can build and maintain lasting, positive relationships with kids who need love, encouragement, guidance, and support.

Rebuilding
Families

Approximately 33% of Highland Park households are single-mother households, nearly double the city and state rates at 18% and 15%, respectively. 41% of households in Highland Park are married. [4]

The NOC believes in the sanctity of marriage and the value of the unified family. Many of the problems in high-crime, low-income neighborhoods are directly linked to the breakdown of the family unit.
We strive to support, challenge, and uplift adults so they may learn to do the same in their own families.
